Summary:

When you Begin With the End in Mind, you think about the future; visualize the outcome. It's all about goals. And you can reach your goals by choosing paths, having a personal mission statement, avoiding roadblocks and doing small things greatly.

Let's start with the first thing: Choosing paths. Have you ever told someone what high school you're going to go to, and they said, "I don't know where I'm going to go, because I don't know what I want to be" (because most people choose high shools for their academies). In some cases, you don't have to know what you're going to do; and in others, the choice cannot wait a moment longer. Plan ahead. Begin With the End in Mind.

Second thing: Having/Making a Personal Mission Statement. when making a mission statement, you have to first name a few good things or talents about yourself. Then, you state your goal and ideal future (remember, you have room to grow, don't think your mission statement is going to stay the same your whole life). Your goal: Hmmmm, where am I going to put forth my effort this year? Your ideal future: where do I want to go in my life... what do I want to do when I'm older? There's no wrong answer, just right what you think! And lastly: name your values and principles. Value and principles are how you where raised, what is right, why would I vote for this person, etc. It's time to grow up and make your own decisions, don't do this because your friends are, and don't do it just because your parents want you to, do it because you want to (if you want to). Now for the hard part, making the mission statement. You can make it a song, a poem, anything as long as it speaks to you. As an example, I would like to share my mission statement: BE KIND. ENTERTAIN. WORSHIP. REMEMBER. ACHIEVE. CRACK WISE. ACCOMPLISH. VALUE. LEAD. Pretty much all I did was jumble up all of the characteristics that I had written down. Now LAST THING on this section (i promise): put your mission statement somewhere you can see it everyday. Memorize it. Live and die by it (try not to die) ;(!

Now for the 3rd and final thing: Avoid roadblocks and do small things greatly. Avoid roadblocks; your friends can be roadblocks, and once you step out of the cliques you'll realize that your better off without them. Sometimes, your friends aren't the roadblocks , but there are endless lists of things that could be holding you back, and sometimes your fine where you are. Do small things greatly: this means that no matter what you do, do it with the same care as you would a puppy or something else that's cute. Take pride in your work, do the same quality job washing a window as you would washing your dad's car.

Remember: think before you act, and you will reach your goal easier and faster. And always Begin With the End in Mind!
