                Habit 1 - Be Proactive Summary
 
 
There are two types of people in this world, proactive and reactive people. Proactive people are the ones that take control of they’re own life and make things happen. Reactive people are the ones that let things happen to them. All this falls into the first habit, Be Proactive, and no, I’m not talking about the skin care product.
 
Think about a bottle of coke and a bottle of water. Now think of a reactive person as the coke. If life shakes them up a bit, the pressure builds and they suddenly explode. Now think of a proactive person as the bottle of water. You can shake them up all you want but they’ll always stay calm, cool and collected.
 
When someone is talking bad about you, how do you resist talking bad back? Just push pause! That's right, push the pause button to your life. If I remember correctly, the pause button is somewhere between your forehead.
 
     Now it's time to learn why humans aren't considered animals. The reason is that we were born with four human power tools. Those tools are self-awareness, which is the power to stand apart from yourself and observe your thoughts and actions, conscience, the inner-voice that lets you know right from wrong, will power, the power to act and choose, and the final tool is imagination, a remarkable gift that allows us to create new possibilities.
 
 
So now that you know about habit one, let me ask you, are you in the drivers seat of your life or are you a mere passenger? Now that everything has been said and done, the choice is yours!!
